Michael Mitchell, DGA

Michael Mitchell began a career in entertainment as a professional dancer at the age of 21 with the modern dance troupe, "The Paula Ross Dance Company". After a short but successful career in the dance world an interest in the craft of stunt work led to study and training in Los Angeles. After 2 years of intense study, an opportunity on the television series "Macgyver", led to many more appearances on the Paramount production as stunt performer and principal actor. More acting and stunt work on other films and television offered the chance to stunt double Robin Williams on the film "Jumanji".
This began a 10 year and 12 movie relationship with Robin, leading to stunt coordinating for Francis Ford Coppolla and Chris Columbus in the U.S. and Europe. Following coordinating the film "Bicentennial Man", an offer to Direct 2nd Unit on James Cameron's "Dark Angel" presented itself. After 2 seasons directing 2nd unit and various main unit days on the show, the final episode saw Michael Mitchell direct 2nd unit for James Cameron himself. Shortly following "Dark Angel" a 2nd Unit directing job appeared on the movie "Peacemakers" with Tom Berenger. Michael has also directed on "Battlestar Galactica", "Triple Eight", and NBC’s "Painkiller Jane". As one of the owners of M&M Studio Services, He is constantly developing projects for production in his 4,400 square foot studio.
